Margaret Summerfield – Industry Analyst, suggested that because of the low crime, higher average wealth and excellent lifestyle and standard of living of residents within the city of Joao Pessoa in north east Brazil, it is proving very attractive for retirees and is set to be a hit with tourists and expats alike.

Summerfield added that the area is referred to as ‘the city where the sun rises first’ and comprised of over 7 square km of forest within the city, ranking it as the second greenest city in the world.
She also says that ‘The crime rate is the lowest in any state capital in Brazil’ adding that ‘ the city is clean and ranks as one of the most health conscious places in Brazil.’
It will not be long before international visitors gain a significant foothold in this city, which is already a significant tourist attraction favourite for Brazilians.
