Progress - The Path and Process

11/05/2011

Brazil’s seemingly swift economic boom has led to the country emerging to the forefront of global attention. However, this apparent rise in stature is not as a result of recent media exposure but is the fruition of a well structured and precarious plan implemented to propel Brazil into the position of power which matches their great population.

Brazil is known for its vast valleys and tropical terrain but the country, blessed by an abundance of beautiful landscapes, is also a region rich in an array of natural resources of which Brazil will be keen to utilise in order to supplement Brazil’s growth.

Amongst these valuable natural commodities Brazil boasts crude oil has become one of Brazil’s most precious. In May 2010 and March this year (2011) Brazil discovered two immense reserves of oil, which are due to thrust Brazil into the cutting edge of oil production, prompting Billions (USD or GBP) in capital investments from various contingents vying to acquire the refined product.

Furthermore, at the end of March this year it was recorded by financial group IBGE that Brazil’s economy expanded for the third consecutive month. The greatest increase was within the amount of consumer goods bought, especially electronic equipment such as TVs and mobile phones. This is an indication of Brazil’s ever growing middle class, building on the impact made by advances in Brazil’s economic strength.

It seems that this economic boost has also coincided with agricultural success as current projections made by Brazilian national food distribution company Conab, suggests that record crop yields are imminent. This will only aid Brazil’s efforts to become self-sufficient as they own some of the largest food, water and oil reserves in the world holding Brazil in good stead for the future.
