Iberia Airlines now flying to Recife three times a week
18/02/2011Spain’s leading airline – Iberia launches it direct flights from Madrid to Recife and Fortaleza in north east Brazil from the 1st February 2011. This opens up the north east of Brazil to the Spanish tourist and investor market like never before.
The first Iberia flights to Brazil have gone beyond the 90% load factor and the new routes will double the number of destinations they fly to in Brazil. Iberia expects to carry as many as 80,000 new passengers on the new route during its first year of operations. Flying three times weekly, using the 254 seat Airbus A340/300s with Business Plus seating and horizontal beds, the highest standards of travel comfort are now available from Europe into north east Brazil.
This new route consolidates Brazil as Iberia’s most important destination in Latin America and is forecast to be the fastest growing destination in their portfolio. It also bodes well for the burgeoning international tourism industry that positions the areas around Recife and Fortaleza as very important future tourist destinations for Europeans. Given the emergence of locations such as Tambaba Country Club Resort being only 45 minutes north of Recife airport, increased inflow of international tourists will only continue to support those investing in the right real estate in the area.
